Cattle Handling and Welfare Training Sessions

During the Cattle offseason, Watco Australia’s Queensland drivers completed training in Cattle Handling and Welfare.

The program’s objective is to educate drivers on animal welfare and ensuring that drivers are aware of the responsibility they hold during the transport of cattle by rail.

Developed and coordinated by JP Van Vuuren and Daryl Stewart, these training sessions have evolved into dynamic forums for learning and facilitating knowledge sharing among drivers of varying experience levels.

Drivers were provided with comprehensive training guides, serving as invaluable references for on-the-job scenarios. This practical approach ensures that drivers are well-equipped to navigate real-world challenges in cattle handling.
